Meyer Lemons are especially desired for their pleasant aroma and small shrub-like size which makes them well suited for gardens. The tree is moderately vigorous and cold hardy. The fruit is medium sized, short and has an elliptical shape. The rind is smooth, yellow and thin. The flesh is juicy, slightly orange, somewhat acidic and moderately seedy. Suitable for zones 9-10.

:Oranges, lemons, limes, the scents of these citrus blossoms aren't the sweetest in the world, but they are close. Limon 'Meyer Improved' is a study in easy culture. It will produce lemons indoors just as easily as if it lived outdoors in Florida or California.
You should grow it outdoors during the summer months, wherever you live. It is tolerant to cold temperatures above freezing. It is very sensitive to freezing temperatures, so it should come indoors at the first whisper of frost on the news.

This lemon is well adapted to container growing, so it will thrive on a sunny porch or balcony just as easily as in a garden setting. As your lemon tree grows, you should move it up in pot size. When it is mature, plant it in a pot no smaller than a foot and a half in diameter.
A light, well-drained potting mix is paramount in your citrus' overall health. A careful watering schedule is important. It will not tolerate wet roots. Water it after the top few inches of soil feels dry. Check for moisture deep in the pot with your finger. There should be just a bit of moisture deep down.
